Hi all looks like I've another way out of my little problem so I'll be keeping the cat ! anyway I've been offered a set of 17" wheels with 205 40 17 tyres , he said the make is OZ and there 4 stud ford /peogeot will they fit ?

As long as they're a 4 x 108 PCD (which it sounds like they are) then yes, they'll physically bolt onto the car. You need to make sure they have the correct et offset though (should be stamped somewhere on the wheel, probably on the back), the standard alloys have an offset of et46, so anything fairly close to that should be fine. The tyres are a little narrow at 205 but I know other people on here have used them without adverse effects. I'd swap them to 215s or 225s when they wear out.

i had a set of 225/45 17's on mine think the offset was et42, but car wasnt lowered. Had no problems with them.

The profile of the tyres may put your speedo out a bit, but this can be rectified when you buy your next set of tyres. 215/45R17 put the speedo right again.

PCD of 4x108 as already mentioned to match the stud pattern. ET35 to ET46 will fit without rubbing. If the centre bore of the wheel is larger than 63.4mm (most aftermarket wheels are 70mm), you'll need a set of spigot rings. Spigot rings are cheap.

I've got 17x7 ET35 on mine without any issues.
