Being miserable for the last few days nursing a sprained back. Hardly any kip last night but finally nodded off this morning at about 06.30ish.
I woke up about 11.30am, feeling pretty much ok, so with Castle Combe looming, as well as a trip to Pick up a leather C2 interior on Thursday, following a bit of a mystery trip in the morning (all will be revealed in somebody elses thread i'm sure in the next few days). Loads of stickers to get done and a couple of sets of overhead door trims, wow it's a busy week.
Anyways, today i decided i was fit enough to complete a couple of mods i've had lined up for a few weeks.
Following on from the vernier pulleys i fitted to my camshafts, and the paintstripping of my old cam cover, i was talking to Manos when we were at the mfsm a couple of weeks back. Manos planted a seed of an idea in my head regarding the pretty cam sprockets and how it would be a shame to cover them up but safety first is the order of the day.
Next, was to get my old cam cover repainted, but after some thought i went for a powdercoat and laquered finish. I had to spend a lot of time cleaning sand and grit from the inside of the cam cover, it was like skeggy beach under the baffle plate. Everything cleaned up and ready to fit so, the cam cover is a straight forward 5 minute job, but the belt cover  well thats a different kettle of fish altogether. It looks as if it will just lift off once the four tiny bolts are removed, ye-right :stop:
I couldn't afford to flex my new belt cover, so to fit it:

Trolley jack under sump insulated by a wooden block.
Remove offside engine mount from inner wing.
Remove auxiliary belt
Remove water pump pulley to gain access to the torqs bolt part hiding behind it. (engine mount support/timing belt middle cover)
Remove aux belt idler pulley to gain access to the hex bolt hidden behind it. (engine mount support/timing belt middle cover)
Remove 3 hex bolts and one torqs bolt to remove engine mount support/timing belt middle cover.

Phew.........:D

Now i can put the cambelt top cover on .
...followed by the above list in reverse order
...then to get the aux belt back on by pulling up the adjuster, and all this with a bad back :geek:

Anyway it's all on and imo looks very nice indeed :)
Tomorrow, i will be changing the thermotwat as i think the one in there now is stuck slightly open, nice steady number

No it's not a divers mask :)

Wow! Nice one Al. :D

Didn't think you'd make the window that big but it gives a perfect view of those pulleys.
Glad to be of help Al.

Colour looks good too, nice and shiney! (y)
