While driving my cougar in the snow and frosty weather the abs and traction control lights have come on and havent gone out,
is there a way to reset them easily or does it require to go to a garage and have a computor connected up to it.
anyone had this fault, is it a common fault !

Could be a load of muck caught up in the abs rings on each wheel, give them a check to make sure they're clear. Could also disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to reset everything, might clear the lights :)

If no luck then check for any fault codes with odb reader. If nothing comes back you probably have a faulty abs unit :(

Any Elm327 OBDII interface will do the job nicely. Plus I'd you have an Android phone or tablet get a bluetooth one and the 'Torque' app (y)

If be checking fuses too incase it's popped one. Refer to your handbook for locations and numbers ;-)

Have you tried an ECU reset to see if the fault is still there? If it is then definitely look at your sensors/rings etc

Sorry Kully.....double check the sensors....

To be fair you were agreeing with him too!

OP did say that his brakes are okay though - unless he's got low-speed pulsing he hasn't noticed - so I wonder whether it's the sensors or reluctor rings at all.

LOL Mako..... Kullys secret super hero name is NightHawk..... I did agree.....sorry for the confusion

Oh! Yes, I can see Kully gliding through the dark on sable wings, secretly healing Fords before quietly disappearing. Should've caught that. :)

LOL!
