Hi ALL

Just to let you know that T299 CNO is still on the road and out and about in south yorks and looking good in her Melina Blue dress. I acquired her in October 2015 and with fuel at 99p a litre we are having some great weekend fun. Some of you may know the car, it is adorned with owner club stickers to July 2016 and I have spotted her in some of your Blackpool outing photos. It was literally I saw her, wanted her, bought her.

Her MOT is due end of April and I cannot spot anything obvious to worry about (Mileage 67k) and she drives good. I only do around 4-5k per year in a car, do not use one for work. IMRC seems okay but needs relocating as it is still bolted to the engine. Last MOT was an advisory regards an oil leak.

One query at the moment, she is fiitted with a piper cross panel air filter, the foam filter material seems very oily/ black. Should this be cleaned and left dry or are they supposed to "oiled" after cleaning?

Oh and good work with the website, especially after the unexpected downtime at the new year.
I hope the MOT result is good and this will be a long affair...

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Your car belonged to Phil (poose) and has been to Blackpool Ford Day on at least a couple of occasions.
Pleased to hear you are enjoying your Cougar ownership and good luck with the MOT.

There was a similar question posted about a Pipercross panel filter just recently IIRC.

I used to wash mine in the dishwasher, leave to dry naturally then spray lightly with cycle chain oil, moved onto K&N cone after 2 years, same process every 12 months but with K&N oil (y)

Thanks for the feedback guys, Loved the Dishwasher in action.

I'll give it a clean and try a light oiling, it seems to oily for any natural grime. Thanks dakota1112001 - I will keep an eye out on this thread to see if you get a response.

I may look to fitting a K&N unit after the MOT.

Welcome, Joe.

I had a Pipercross carbon Viper and all it wanted was a good soak in soapy water, drying out, and then a light spray of their dirt-retention additive.

My missus had a Pipercross Vector and it was the same procedure.

Hi mate wondered where my old car had gone, you got a gud un there was solid underneath and good engine wished I had kept her now !

dakota1112001 - Thanks for the update, I had a look around their web site, missed the link. I will be cleaning the filter this weekend, have ordered the cleaning and filter oil.

Hi
poose - She still drives well, have not seen underneath, simply saw it and bought it. Great colour and the 18" wheels really do set the scene. The MOT is this coming week, hopefully, like the others she will pass with little effort then I plan to invest some time on the bodywork/ subframe. I will also need to organise a spare key.
