Alpine subs

So iv been offerd from a mate an alpine sub and amp box swe1890 can't find any reviews on it any one came across these it looks good a google images

sorry have not worked out copy and paste on this iPad yet
 
I haven't bought any large amount of car stereo items for years, but a lot of the stuff in my now departed XR3:( was Alpine and I never had any complaints.
To be honest I think any of the major manufacturers products will do the business - it would take someone with more discerning ears than me to pick up the difference between brands.
 
Thanks bud looks the part but just concerned on how old it is on googling it it's never been released in the uk always been a Chinese part so it's an import
so I'm considering alpine speakers and this or fli subs and speakers
don't know how good fli is and I can pick up a fil sub hardly used for 50 quid
 
I've only seen Fli sold in Halfords. I would suggest a specialist car audio forum but I get the feeling they're probably populated by arrogant know-it-alls or spotty yoofs.
 
I used to know all about this stuff back in the days of collage remember going round in my Citroen ax tinted windows and jbl subwoofer lol it was my first car, every time I got to a hill it cut out
 
I think it's a stage most of us went through - I always made sure there was a way of switching most of the power off though when I wanted Test Match Special on:giggle:
