Alternative Duratec units maybe?

mk1/mk2 etc are usually terms defined by the owners, from my days behind a big Fiesta club it was always causing contention as to what constituted a new mark, and how to define each vehicle... Upshot, they were all equally as valid as each other - they were all made up definitions.... (Yes, it's common in Ford circles to refer to a mk4.75 Fiesta!)

I recall Ford actually stopped publically using "mk" or version numbers officially on the Cortina. Only the Ford model years and vehicle codes are really canonical.

...Interesting...I think where Fiesta's were concerned for us it was either the "old square one" or "the new round one"
but back then I was into MK1&2 Escorts and MK3 Capris...so I suppose I'm in the habit of using the term...the Ford
line on the manual doesn't have an "MK" just "Cougar 2"...
