Anyone got a cup holder in their centre console?

I was just having a rummage round last night and found that you can get a US (LHD) centre console for the Mercury Cougar with a cup holder in it. That's something I think I'm going to miss from the Laguna. Does anyone know if you can get a RHD version like that?

No but someone a while ago modified one to fit a RHD console.
But beware, the yanks affectionately call it the 'cup spiller'.

I much prefer the pen holder that's there instead. I don't allow anyone to eat or drink in my Kitty.

There's a 'how-to' here but it advises using a centre console from a Mk1 Mondeo as the penholders are removeable on them:

I've got one in my centre console. It needs some fiberglass but it can be done

or you can buy a new armrest from the states with these built in

Or just open the arm rest and put your cups in the cd/tape compartment .... I find can fit 2 maccies regular cups in there easy and they have spill proof deepness

Got to admit, lack of cup holders in the Cougar was a downer - trip to BM stores and a total layout of £5 bought 2 cup holders and thermo cups which fully extended fit a treat on the side windows (careful not to spill) - now the Cougar is perfect!
