Now my post number is up to 12 I can have a go at posting a picture of my kitty.
Taken just after I got her about 2 years ago.

Cross fingers, hope this works;

She looks exactly the same now (just not so clean as she is here!). Not an X-pack unfortunately . . .
The main differences between then and now are mechanical (wishbones, alternator, steering rack etc)
I am planning a few small exterior mods (clear repeaters, cat badges, mudflaps etc).
The headlights look better after a polish but I can assure you they have the microcracking which I guess is standard.

Anybody got any hints on the best way to remove badges and tailgate lettering without damaging paintwork ?? I know, I should subscribe :)

Cheers all for looking.

hairdryer to warm the glue a little will help for the Cougar and V6 badge
ford badge is held on with three pins that go through the tailgate

be warned! - take a good look at the paintwork beforehand and make sure you know it's original - mine has been blown over (badly) and when I pulled the V6 badge a great big lump of paint came of with it - pissed off is an understatement....

A nice standard looking cat there. Re: Badges well, I'd just echo what the others have said above, it's an easy enough job.

and then use a length of fishing line in a sawing motion behind the badge.
Or dental floss is a good alternative.
Then clean off the gooey mess with a good label remover. I've got some that's lemon based so not harmful to the paintwork.
The cleaned paintwork will need a good coating of wax but if you're fitting replacement badges, save that until after the new badges are fitted.

BTW nice clean looking frosty. (y)

If the sponge/adhesive has gone rock-solid and refuses to be sawed, you can wrap a small screwdriver with electrical tape to provide some persuasion. But that's an absolute last resort because you'll almost certainly cause damage to the paintwork.

As per Quicksilver's post, Ms. Mako's hair dryer has been savagely abused for this before.

Also, Megiuar's Speed Detailer and a cotton cloth will remove the sticky residue as well.
