Hi all

I have had my car debadged but would like to fit them across the mid boot along with the Cougars head emblem.

Any recomendations on what adhesive to use? Never done anything like this before so will trust your knowledge :)

Ricky, I've just remembered I asked Al to cut me some badge letters from some double-sided adhesive paper when I added 'Cougar V6' in OEM letters to my stainless battery cover.
As ever he was good enough to provide several spare sets, one of which Rich Elliott had from me when he re-spaced his boot lettering. There is another spare set and a few odd letters here if you want them; the 'O' is missing but you could get away with using one of the extra 'C's' for the O.

I ended up sourcing a 'new old stock' replacement COUGAR badge from America in the end. I dropped across those adhesive letter template only a few weeks ago during our removals and chucked them.

Thanks guys, i need it for the whole 'Cougar V6' section... strangly it was after seeing Richs that I wanted to do this... i think it suits the car better than the corner :)

I like it better stretched across instead of all crammed in the corner as well.
In school we use double sided tape from 3M and then just cut around everything with a razorblade, before sticking it to the car. As long as you don't have any pieces of the tape sticking out from under the letters it ends up looking like the factory did it.
As many emblems as I've taken off in the past two years, I've come to realize they use something similar in attaching them. And it's strong enough we use the same stuff for attaching side skirts and such in the states with no problem of them falling off for years without some sort of help.

That was my last option just to buy some gorilla tape or similar cut and stick it... but I am probably the least creative/ability to attempt that haha

I thought you might want to get the lettering done before Combe but if not I'll hang on to them until you get here. (y)

Well my car isnt back until Thursday so i dont think I would be able to get it done in time without rushing if I am honest

Why not do it at Combe? It'll give us something to do.

Also, I can bring a roll of gel tape - it's the stuff you can use to attach a groom to the top of a lamp-post. Never lost a license plate yet.

 I'll second that.
Btw Ricky, if you know how you intend to space the letters, i can probably do you a vinyl template for perfect alignment.

This, Al, sums up why you're frickin' awesome. You don't have to do that, but you're going above and beyond to help a fellow Cougarite out, that 'will do' ethos is what keeps our club alive. Chapeau, Sir.
