Bit of a dilemma....

Hi folks..I joined this forum last year with the intention of acquiring a "Cougar"... although I know a bit about the Cougar as I do like my fords...barring a brief flirtation with a C30 t5 Volvo coupe (2 months owned then written off) my previous 7 cars have been Ford's... now running my 3rd Mondog..
The dilemma is...with foresight it should of been a Cougar I bought 6 years back rather than my 3rd mondeo or Mondog as I call them...
The Cougar is a really good looking motor and I can't see Ford making the likes of these any time soon..
Ford Mustang is too pricey once it gets to Blighty..
Back to dilemma...basically I can't justify running 2 cars..especially 2 v6 motors..
I love my Mondog and have over 3k of receipts for work carried out at fords itself and my local indi has done a fair bit concerning replacing all fluids regular and fitting my disc's and pads and also servicing plus he does my mot's as well..
Car has had alot of money spent on it and presently needs nothing...everything as good as good gets..has 52k and runs perfectly.. had new platinum plugs and vacum pipes including the infamous crank breather hose (inlet manifold has to come off to replace rear bank spark plugs too)
Finding a buyer for a car I don't want to sell...to buy a car from somebody else who probably isn't to happy to be selling thier "pride&joy Cougar..
Any advice...words of wisdom. .or any sort of help to the dilemma I now find myself in..:)
Any replies will be much appreciated...thanking you n
folks..

Forgot to add has a nice discreet boot lip spoiler from an St 220..
Don't know about loading pics but I have downloaded lots on to the talk Ford site same username...it's really easy and straight forward to post pics on Talk Ford.
But I'm going to have to put my shiny tin foil hat on to work out how to post pics onto this forum..

these are a bit crude, the edges of the car are wrong, as is the shine, the side shots of the car are the worst, the angle of the car doesn't fit the picture or the background, the shadows from the buildings don't match the almost non-existant shadows from the car, the car and the fence are the wrong proportions, would have thought the fence near the car is around 5-6 ft high but looks smaller than the car height plus almost looks as the car is on the fence, plus other things the shine on the body not right, they have tidy the body a bit but not wheels, bonnet and front bumper have no stone chips/marks you would expect to see if the wheels where in the state there in, there is a dent shown on passenger side behind rear wheel towards bumper plus looks like scratches by passenger door half way along just beneath the door handle which run on to rear panel, from quick look, even the interior pics which show the buildings outside look wrong
if anyone wants to check

Main things to look out for are rear subframe and rustworm on the sills, mechanicals can easily be sorted.
Check usual stuff oil, water- cougars like the oil to be full so make sure no funny tapping noises on the V6,wishbones used to be very expensive but seem to have come down in price now so not really an issue

Bodywork is definitely the primary concern these days. Rough mechanicals in a sound bodyshell can be sorted and usually fairly inexpensively, often involving a few bacon-fuelled blokes descending on your house with toolkits and a keen desire to keep one more Cougar on the road. Rust is harder to sort but even that isn't a show-stopper if you're willing to spend the money - subframes can be replaced, rot can be cut out and new metal welded in but you obviously also need to factor in repainting of the affected area etc.

As you haven't bought your Cougar yet, I'd advise asking someone from within the club to accompany you on viewings of prospective purchases. There's not much we haven't seen between us and we know what's a cheaply fixed bargaining tool, what's a 'walk away' warning sign and what's an unrealistic asking price.

These were quick replies.. I've heard from one guy on Talk Ford who is running a Cougar and he had only good things to say about it...
Although I presently run a Mondog I've always liked the Cougar and the new edge look of that period..even the tiny Ka
Even owned a mk1.5 foccy .. then had a new mk3 ghia estate. Humugus..... a mk2 ghia x with the same V6 Cleveland built engine as the Cougar.. with a stainless steel scorpion twin exit it sounded awesome...still got that exhaust in the shed..took it off before it was scrapped..
now on my third Mondog a hatchback in Panther Black...
That's a very kind offer for someone with knowledge of these handsome beasts to come along and help with looking over a prospective purchase...
there's a nice "ebony v6 with working sunroof and a genuine Ford rear spoiler.. looks boss...90k+ miles...£850. .it's also got 14 stamps...

I think they're trying to hide the fact it's parked in a grotty street or something. As photoshop work goes, I've seen much worse.
I don't think they've hidden too much - they tried using the patch tool on the NS rear quarter by the bumper, and made it look like a tennis ball had left orbit using that as a landing zone, but still worth seeing in the daylight flesh before even considering a deposit.

Cigar lighter left in the handbrake well.. Yeah, as if the car ever moved with it there! You'd ruin your knuckles trying to take the handbrake off with that there.

Driver's seat bolsters look pretty reasonable for 50k miles, let alone the 80k listed, so that's possibly accurate mileage with a reasonable human being using the seats as intended.

Would need a Cougar Pro to confirm, but aren't C2 wheels the ones with COUGAR on the spokes vs centre caps? I've had 2x C1s with it on the caps. So possibly a wheel swap going on there? What happened to the old ones? Swapped for style, or did the previous owners bounce them up every kerb in the country? Check chassis rails for odd ripples, bushes, play in steering rack for probable issues.
