Buying a new alternator - what brand?

I can see on Ebay that Bosch alternators are around £230 and there are other brands apparently OE and with 1 yr guarantee that are less than half this price. Has anyone got any experience of buying other than from a main dealer? What brand did you go for and was it OK ?

I also need one soon, Bosch one here for £170 is where my money's going.
