well today my 3M dinoc ca421 vinyl arrived so gave it a try. took me 10mins to remove mirror covers, 10min to wrap it, 10min to put everything back. Its so simple, i still can believe i did it so easily.

10 minutes! is that all? wow it would take me that long to just figure out how to remove the mirror case, let alone remove it

Looking good mate, something I would like to try on my car as the mirror covers are a scratched.

Another good video here (ok the write up is in spanish) nice motorbike wrap and it also shows you the benefits of the 3M vinyl

yep, 10 mins:) if you will have a try, use hair dryer instead of heat gun.
It stretches from heat, but if you give him more then its needed you can rip apart it.
better go slow then sorry

It was more removing the mirror cover that a how to would have been good for.

how do you take the back of the mirror off?

IIRC; it's: remove the mirror glass by carefully 'popping' it from its holder, then tilt the holder so the top comes as far towards you as poss, this will expose three? tabs along the bottom of the cover that can be pushed from their holders with a long flat bladed screwdriver.

Cool thanks for that info Andy (think I remember Al having a how to in his mirror indicator thread)
Turns out you can get that 3M stuff in White and Silver/grey too, its just rare as hens teeth. Still interested in wrapping the bonnet/roof*(*maybe) too, but i'm guessing the wrap will be costly, especialy if i'm after the sliver stuff.

there is hundreds of available vinyls from 3M, from leather to wood, from aluminum to marble. I've got a sample catalogue at work - there is really a lot of option. Only one problem, i can't buy a piece of it, i need to buy the whole roll....

also i've took picture with mirror glass removed. from the picture you can see who holds mirror in place. There is 4places where clips are holding it, (on that big circle) if you use flat screwdriver carefully, you can remove it. best way to do it, set mirror as low as possible, ant then from top try to remove it. Also there are two wires for heating, try not to break them. The cover itself is held by three clips - you can also see them in picture.
