How did peoples' brakes stand up to the stresses of the track?

Mine were fine but they didn't get much more of a hammering than they do in normal everyday life so I knew pretty accurately what they were up to.

Tim's did suffer a lot - iirc he reckoned that he had burned off some of his fluid and certainly had to top up after - I'm sure he can explain better.

I don't recall Matt mentioning any problems.

Yeh, my brakes were cack!! but there again, I was going hooning into the corners a little too fast, so was having to jump on brakes a lot more. I think as Steve (Stribo) said I must have glazed them, but also I must have burnt off a bit of fluid (and no, there are no fluid leaks), as when I got back to Badminton Hall I had to call Rachel aka Relfski to ask if Steve could pick up some brake fluid when picking some fags up for Al. The brakes are better now, although don't seem to be as good as they were before going to Castle Combe, so maybe they need bleeding as they are new discs and pads on the fronts (I've yet to do the rears).

Also I was a bit of a plonker, as I had 4 crate loads of poop in the boot and a full tank of fuel, so that was weighing the car down and obviously putting more stress on the brakes. Also my discs aren't vented either which possibly would have helped. I still had fun though.

nice pics buddy, i wish i was in a better mood when i was there as maybe i would have walked around with my eyes open and seen the cougars lmao....... (the day before the show my track car was broken into)

anyways is there any cougars that are track cars here???

Acouple of guys have contemplated track cars in the past. Start a new thread though, you might get some interest (y)

I don't personally think the Coug is up to being a "Track Day" car. If you had seen many of the other smaller and lighter 2 litre (and less...lol!!!) cars flying around the track and whizzing past us like weren't even trying..and we weren't hanging around, I think I averaged about 85mph around the track, doesn't sound that fast, but when you see those corners looming up very quickly.....lol

Would be interested to see just what a stripped out track day Coug could actually do......we wait with baited breath!
