Well that is me told but unable to reply as the thread closed by one of the forums mods and Christ there is more of them than active members don't you think?

i have seen new owners come on this forum over the last couple of years and post up either in the wrong section or do something they should not even though they we were only trying to fit in only to find some over Zelus mod shot them down and they leave and we lose yet another club member and of course a potential information source or active member and Christ we need them.

you need to lighten up and welcome anybody with either a car or a active interest in Cougars not quote some un-flexable rules which just hack people off and they never come back or maybe it's just me that's thinks this way what do thers think.

Sorry admins then the same message still applies we need all the owners of Cougars active on this forum as it's the only good source of information and the more users in what ever form that takes is in my opinion the way forward.

Closed, because you were sending it off topic. I appreciate you have a soap box, but like i have said - if you feel you could do a better job, please message Al or Mart and perhaps they may appreciate your input.

For the avoidance of doubt, this is my last reply on the matter.

My point stands and this is my point this forum will never move forward and expand when my post brings this response from the inner circle members and totally missing the point trying to be made and like you Simon my final word.

I am definately not in the inner circle as you call it, but have been here for a few years and have heard this argument many times.
A lot of people came on the forum just to make a fast buck, they never gave anything all they ever did was take so rules were put into place. Membership prices are very reasonable and for the amount of knowledge and help you get well worth the money a lot of people come on for their specific problem without joining and are made very welcome but as soon as the problem is solved they bugger off without even a thankyou.
I agree with you that most are trying to keep cougars on the road but some are just trying to keep THEIR CAR ON THE ROAD as cheaply as possible and dont really give a damm about anyone else.
I am not pointing fingers at anyone here i am just trying to show why we need the rules

And the point of all this was?

We look after each other here - if anyone can't see that they want their head testing. I'm sure you lot get quite fed up of my slightly odd ways at times but I'm positive that if it was not for the members on here I would be in a much worse place. It's not even about the car half the time, but it's the fact of having people that, even if you only see them a couple of times a year, you know that they will be there for you to get you going if you are a bit down in the dumps or struggling with something, and also to share in your successes. No complaints here.

Mikey I assume that assey comment was aimed at me. I did actually subscribe to the forum when I first joined up, I just am not a talkative person so hardly used it. Now when I come back, that's great to hear. Read my post and it wasn't even a f'ing advert,it was more of a sad post on the fact I may need to sell her.

If you read the post properly , it was a statement of why we needed rules and as i said not aimed at anyone BUT WAS BASED ON PAST EXPERIENCES

okay, i will post once more.

Adam, your last post in your none for sale thread listed a price for the car and confirmed it was for sale.

I appreciate you are unhappy that you don't meet the criteria to post a classified ad, but that is exactly what it was albeit it later on in a thread which started off quite innocently.

I will happily reopen the thread with that post deleted if you would like?

To answer this from an Adim perspective:
Yes, we are a friendly and welcoming club and, yes, we do need to encourage new members to stick around.
Cougar's are getting thin on the ground which means less potential new members here.
Agreed.
The selling rules are to stop people who are not know to the club and auto traders using the forum as a free selling medium. We allow known and subscribed members to sell as at least we would hopefully have a bit of background and information on the car and the seller and we know that they are a genuine owner, not a dodgy trader trying to pass off a lemon for example.
It's understood that these rules can be a pain for an ex member when he comes to sell up....I for one would like to see the rules adjusted so that ex subscribers can gain permission to sell if their subs have lapsed.

I agree with this and think it should be discussed and maybe as an option, added to the seling rules.
