Coil pack question

A C1 coil pack has 4 bolts to hold it down but a C2 one only has 3 and the fittings for the supply leads are also different.

If there was a reason you were desperate to change, you could always fit a C2 rocker cover and some nice Magnecor leads (which you can get hold of for less than OEM ones...)

Note that if your UIM has ever been disturbed before - perhaps by a timid mechanic when (s)he changed the spark plugs - you will need to replace the gaskets. They're about £25.

Thanks for replys
the reason for this was I was getting some very lumpy running issues below 3k revs when pulling away as I have a spare c2 coil pack
it seemed worth a shot anyway problem is now solved plugs changed it wasn't the plugs maf and throttle body cleaned imrc removed and tied open precats gutted cone filter replaced with standard air box throttle cable tightened switched to premium fuel and injector cleaner not sure what did the trick but it's running great now lol

The only conclusion I can take away from that - premium fuel, air filter and injector cleaner sorted it - is that she was just dirty mate.

Can I suggest an oil and fuel filter change now?

The IMRC is irrelevant probably, since your issue was below 3.5K RPM. My opinion is that you have a Duratec that wasn't well looked-after before you bought her. She needs some love.

I agree with your assessment there mako loads of crud blowing out after the manifold cleaner and fuel treatment
i did wonder that heat soak and cone filters were playing a part too
it's lovely and smooth now pulling from low revs nicely so yes next stop a service andihave a twin power flow to go on
