Cougar V6 Alternator

Hey guys, firstly sorry to keep asking questions about parts, I'll try to actually contribute something from now on!

So the other day my local garage quoted me £780 for a new alternator

I phoned Ford and they didn't want to know, probably because of the high cost, and I can't find anything that looks genuine online. I did find a few cheap ones made by other brands, but that seems like quite a gamble. So does anyone know where to get a new alternator for a V6? Or is it worth getting a refurbished one, or getting mine refurbished?

Go for a motorcraft v6 alternator or if you trust your refubisher let them to refurb one for you they will give you 12 months on it they are all refursbished anyway!
