About have a new bonnet fitted this afternoon but laquer has also gone on front bumper and rear spoiler and bumper need re- spraying quoted £230 was adament about getting it down but what the cars are worth now is it pointless ? Was going go for the full leather interior as well not sure what to do ?

it all depends on how long you want to keep the car, if your looking at keeping it for a year or 2 i wouldnt bother, if your looking at keeping it for a while well that works out at £23 for 10 months ownership which is a bargain (y) think Steve (SPJMorris) has one for sale

It also depends on whether you would like to be seen driving a car that looks neglected

BTW is it not cheaper to source some bumpers off eBay etc.

That was the route I was thinking of going down, I've been quoted £170 to repair and spray my rear bumper and as the car is in good, but not show condition I'd rather give another member the money for a bumper from one of their breakers.

The benefit of buying here is that no one with any sense will risk their reputation by selling you rubbish.

And we do Cougarforce. eBay doesn't.

In answer to the original question, it's all down to how much you want to keep the car on the road. From the sound of it, that wouldn't cost too much to sort out. What is probably more important is to check the condition of the shell - have a good look underneath at the floor and sills. If you have a good solid shell then it is worth splashing out to sort the cosmetics, if the tinworm has set in you'll probably be chucking your money away. Bits like the rear subframe are not a problem, source a reconditioned one and offer bacon and beer and see who turns up to help swap it. The body shell is key these days (y)
