Well what a weekend.
Some facebookers will have seen the plethora of iphone pics I have posted up over the weekend, but thought I would share more on here.
This was my son and I's Christmas presents and it was so worth the wait. Jake, my son, is the biggest F1 fan in the world and he was almost in tears of happiness all weekend.
"This is the best thing ever in my life," - that made it if for me
F1 has some great detractors these days, and I understand why. But what a show is put on.
We stopped all weekend (well from Thursday) and camped at Woodlands. Everything was great apart from it taking 4 hours to get out to come home.
For the first time Silverstone allowed three day pass holders to have a pit walk on the Thursday and that was just brilliant....just brilliant.
The whole set up around the circuit was magnificent, but I was glad to have taken my own food - when its £8 for bloody burger!!!
The support for the British drivers was phenominal - particularly for Jenson Button and his #pinkforpappa campaign. It was emotional listening to him, and you couldn't help but get drawn in.
We had reserved seating on the national pit straight for the race, and those seats were amazing but for practices, qualifying and some of the support races we had the best seats in the house on the main straight.
Clearly Lewis is incredibly popular, and the roar when Rosberg broke down was brilliant, although Hamilton would have had him regardless.
We got on the track at the end and when Hamilton climbed the pit wall to celebrate we were two feet away - but my phone was out of frigging battery - god damn it!! Hey ho.
It was a shame Button didn't get on the podium, but fourth wasn't bad.
The atmosphere was electric in the stands...and i had to laugh when they played an interview on the screens with Vettel when he said "the British fans are very fair," and the bloke next to me shouted "no we bloody aren't."
Aside from the British drivers, Williams are extremely popular - and what a drive from Bottas.
Check out the pic with his interview in the programme - and his first car
Brilliant from the Marussia's in qualifying and Chilton lapped it up with the fans...shame he got a penalty.
I could ramble on....and on, and maybe will later but here are a few (a lot of pictures) from our weekend.
