Chichester - Well....close enough!
Car was strapped onto my mates trailer and hitched to my new van and was towed upto Birmingham early Saturday morning.

These piccies were taken on the Friday. Singe rear light lense left on as one of the bulb holders refused to let go. When the car was delivered I was advised the bulb holders were not used in the kit car so I simply cut the wire and brought the light unit home along with some other bits. (y)

Those with gentle stomachs might wish to look away :)

Not me mate !! The new owner.
If I had a spare 15k sitting around and spent it on a Ferrari kit car, you lot would be attending my funeral very soon !

So whilst it will no longer be a Cougar in "our" sense of the word, it is going on to live a very nice life with a new owner who will be spending 10x the amount looking after her as I could have done.

If people are interested, I will start a thread with build pictures showing the transformation, as i am sure the new owner wont mind.
I have even offered to give him a hand as I am quite intrigued to be honest.

After visiting the company and seeing 4 360 spiders (MR2 based) and 3 Scuderias (Cougar based), I was totally blown away by the quality of their work !

Paul

would be cracking to see a thread on its new lease of life paul, you must have been sad to see it go, after the hours you have spent working on it.

Yes and no......God knows the hours I have spent working on Cougars....and this one was no different. It fought me every inch of the way, and I have some deep cuts to prove it on my right hand !

The drivers side front wing was the worst. Becauxse the bolt on the sill is slightly recessed, I could only use my Dremmal to grind the bolt off. 2 hours later, lying on my back on a freezing cold driveway and it eventualy gave in !!!

Even when unstrapping her from the trailer my hand slipped on the ratchet and caught the front corner of the car inflicting a 1" rather deep cut with plenty of blood !

I should be releived that I wont have to work on a Cougar again, but alas no. My mate (who still hasn't signed up - the slack git) has bought my lowering springs and wants me to help fit them. He might also need help replacing a load of the suspension bushes as these were an advisory on last years MOT.......and then the worst part of all, we will need to fit a new ABS pump !!! Not looking forward to that as according to Haynes it's an 8 hour 5 spanner job !! Bloody marvelous !!!
Just can't seem to escape them o_O

So an Ebony has died only to be reborn in a different guise. Would be interested to see the transformation in a new thread though.

ABS pump isn't that bad mate.. just have to take the master cylinder and servo off to get good access

The electrics are on one big multiplug and the 4 brake lines and feed..
