Well, after a run-in with a pothole last week which killed one of my alloys I decided to go for the set of 17" Focus alloys I decided against a few weeks ago. Drove down to Northwich yesterday (with the spare alloy I had fitted) and picked them up. Gave them a clean and fitted them today and I must say I'm rather chuffed:

They're not 100% perfect they do have a few marks on them but for £185 quid not to be sniffed at. I'm very happy with them and reckon they look 100% better than the old Wolfrace Matrix alloys I had - I always thought the design was a bit too lairy for my taste! :)

It's a style of wheel that suits the cougar, they're not a million miles away from the look of the wheels on rias car.

The Ford model name for those alloys is MP3 and we have them on our Fiesta, albeit in 16" rather than 17".

They were indeed used on a Mk 1 Focus special edtion (called the MP3!) aswell as the Mk 6 Fiesta, Mk 3 Mondeo and Mk2 Galaxy (the Mondeo and Galaxy being 5 bolt rather than 4 though). They suit the Cougar a treat, looking not dissimilar to the Masitaly VT7s on Ria's car, as Rich has already said. Chris (Bigc23) also has a set on Cat1 that he bought from Si.

Looking very nice there John I have to admit the wolfrace where a little in your face these look very subtle.(y)(y)

Thanks, I thought I remember something being mentioned about wheelnuts so I've ordered a set of standard Ford alloy nuts and locking nuts to replace the ones that are on at the moment - will change them over later this week (y)

John, great find mate and cheap too! Looks good. Thinking about them for my Mondy, although will need 5 stud. Looking good though matey.
