So fitted me springs over the weekend, they are German FK automotive springs giving a 30mm drop

I am running on 18" 215/35/18 wheels and due to the not being stupidly low I still get a good ride, I actually prefer it to the standard boaty one and much less body roll. These were 72quid delivered and if they last well I would recommend them.

Worth knowing. I'll be renewing all four shocks when I get my Cougar back, it makes sense to do lowering springs and strut braces at that point. I'll watch with interest for your progress reports.

I did look at my shocks and mounts which looked ok. The cars done 70k and they havent lowered it too much. Doubt its stressing components more.

Lol I have lowered almost every car I have had but its for looks and the facts I like a harder ride. Just depends whether your cruising or driving hars. To me the standard setup had me rolling out my seat haha

Mine is lowered 30mm on PI springs and I much prefer it to the orginal ride height (I am running17's with 205/45/17 tyres). It handles much better and flatter, although you do feel a lot more bumps than you do with the original set up. However, I can live with that.

I would love to lower mine but there is no way I would get it into my garage so I guess it will always remain the only standard thing on my car.

Mine deals with speed bumps better than it used to, might be a little lower but doest bounce like it used to on standard suspension

Get some DR Dre hydrolics lol, and bounce over them, but I completely understand I used to deliver Chinese but stopped due to the amount of speed bumps, that was not in the cougar BTW' would have lost money on fuel using the v6

Glad to hear your ride is better Bob, i need to lower mine as it goes round corners like a gallon of water on stock springs and dampers, and its only done 51k,

Where did you get yours that was a great price (y) i was going to go for -35mm Apex but at that price might consider those instead

Type your car in and i left my engine size too

Arrived in 3days, i will compare them with Alans setup but compared to my other lowered cars this feels really good

FK are the same people who make Weitec, so i expect the ride quaility is similar, ihad a Weitec ultra GT kit on a Golf few years ago and it was superb, not too hard and firemed up really nicely on the twisty bits.

Unlike yellow Konis that if you run over a match stick it breaks your spine
