First time Cougar owner!

Thanks everyone. I know it was only purchased for racing but im getting a twitch in my eBay finger! Even the other half is thinking about swapping her Millenium Puma for a bigger cat!

Such a shame to see so many go to the scrap yard in the sky. How come so many have passed on?

The sad fact is that they're now old cars and, because they can be had very cheaply, some people will inevitably buy them as a 'nail' and run them into the ground with little or no maintainence and then scrap them the first time something vaguely expensive lets go. It's a shocking way to treat any car and one that I can't really comprehend, but some people just see a relatively cheap lump of four wheeled transport and nothing else.

Once the wishbones are replaced at roughly 80,000 miles if the cougar is serviced and maintained regularly then their isn't alot more that can go wrong with it that is all that expensive, admittedly alot of members are starting to suffer with the rear sub frame rusting but for a 12 year old car they are actually very reliable. The biggest problem as far as i see it is that garages see it as a specialist vehical and charge as such so if you are scared to use a spanner labour costs can be very high.

Oh and Welcome to the club (y)

Most of the hill climbs are mainly in Cornwall but depending on work commitments, I should hopefully get a few in around your way WildV6 :) When I know im going to do my first hill climb, I'll make a topic about it with dates and times! :)

Oh and Relliott6879 - Im fairly sure I spotted your car two/three weeks ago when I was working in Southampton/Portsmouth. Your reg plate stuck in my head for some reason!

Really? Quite likely as I live in Waterlooville (suburb of Portsmouth), I just can't think where I've been in it recently apart from to work and back!

The office I was working out of was in Waterlooville so could well of been around there :).
