Ford Fair 2012 - the 0-60 runs! (plus a few extras)

Well, after getting a lift most of the way from the stand to the 0-60 run area (long story!) I took some snaps of the 0-60 runs. Sadly, due to ongoing running issues, Mofo and Phoenix had to pull out (she only made it over the bridge when the excess weight - that being myself, Kathy and Jackie - got out)

First up - Simon and the Zetec Cougar:

Not bad for a 4 pot 4x4...Next up was Dave in his shiny UIM'd frosty:

A quick breather while they circled about for another run (and enough time to switch to the bigger lense)

Sierra Cossie:

A modern day turboed powerhouse - the Focus RS - now this should be quick:

Finally....what's this I see?

I wonder if it's real or a replica...

Sounds real - exhausts popping with the launch control....

Goes like a real WRC car too....

And the time....yup it's a genuine ex-WRC car - bloody awesome machine

We had to walk back to the stand and.....took a wrong turn and pretty soon we were at a deserted part of the track (down by the new pit complex). We decided to go and sit in the Vale grandstand for a bit and I took some pics of the track cars.

The heavens opened and the track got a bit greasy (thank god we were in a posh grandstand with a roof)

This guy came steaming into Vale corner and I knew before he hit the brakes what was about to happen - too much speed + wet track = Gravel trap:

I had another 2 runs a few hours after curtosy of Ian (many thanks matey) where I got a 7.98, and a 8.4 something, not great compared to last years 7.64 but it gives me something to work towards for next year

I saw that Chesman Escort going around later in the day. He came up to Brooklands like he was on fire.

Here's a couple of pics of the 0-60 runs. I did my best to keep the wall out of it and get the whole cars, but it's not easy when you're short like me, so they're all cropped long-shots and a bit grainy and...oh, okay - I'm a rubbish photographer.
