funny hot smell

well the old cougar has a new smell to day after the expantion tank cracked and sent hot water all over the engine bay nice lol, but it has been doing its job for 12 years now so it will get a new one as soon as it turns up in post,
funny though the smallest crack but with the water under pressuer it got just about every were have checked it out and its not the head gasket .
windows did mist up well

Doesn't sound good, funny how all these jobs start to crop up as the weather gets colder and the nights are drawing in!

Horrid smell that.
Happened to me when coolant pipe split and went everywhere.!!

Ot prob where the coolant is evaporating off the engine I had the same thing when my power steering popped and it took days for the smell to go

need to get the stuff off all the chrome bits as they look propper mucky now but as i like a clean bay gives me some thing to do

Lol Andy that's not good mate ..... horrible smell to be honest but not as bad as burnt out gearbox bearings .....
