hi all, had to share this with you.......

on the industrial site where i work some companies including the one opposite ours have these hydraulic ramps. they basically turn 1 parking space into two as the first car drives on and then the ramp goes up and the second car parks underneath it.
they are a very good idea...however if you ever use one and you are the car on top.......

.....don't forget to use your handbrake!!!!!!

Ooooch.....thank God it's a Vauxhall!

I thought those things had chocks at the end of the ramp that lifted up when the ramp was raised.

And another thing.....what if the guy under you is doing overtime? o_O

Classic!!

I've been trying to get a photo of my Mum's next door neighbour's garage; he has a similar set-up so he can get both of his Ferraris in.

Hey, I wouldn't worry too much, it's only a Vauxhall...who cares! lol To park it without the handbrake on is foolish, but to park it without the handbrake on, or in gear, well that is just madness!!!!!

I believe in the new astra's (which that is) and also the insignia's (had one as a hire car) the handbrakes are electronic. It was in the insignia anyway. No lever just a button on the centre console to press to engage and disengage the handbrake. I was very dubious using it as you had to rely on the dash light coming on to tell you whether it was on or not.

ha ha i'm not a vauxhall fan either (i would rather push my ford than drive a vauxhall) but the car was only for months old and her husband had bought it as a present. i did feel a bit sorry for her......after i had stopped laughing of course....but sorry none the sorry none the less!

My car has that. I like it. It's reliable and really declutters the cabin by getting rid of a big stupid lever you only need when you're not in the car :)

The car isn't my cup of tea but I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I hate to think what damage this would do, and as the car is quite young there's a fair chance it'll get "fixed" by insurance, and probably be a total rust bucket that's never right again.
