Hi all.

I am in process of buying a 2 litre Cougar T reg 1 owner 40k miles for export to France.

I have read that the headlights have a lever for changing from right to left hand drive.

I would be grateful if anyone could confirm this.

Thanks

Sean

Hello Sean, there is a lever in each lamp unit to alter the beam but it is not designed as a permanent solution as it only blocks off part of the beam and doesn't give the correct spread of light for driving on the right.

Hi Procomm

Many thanks for your reply.

There are no Cougars for sale in France and used prices are very high compared with UK.
I have driven nothing but RHD cars in France for 13 years and it is not a problem.

Regards

Sean

Radio change

Hi

My Cougar should arrive from UK next week (low loader to France), it appears from photos to have the basic
radio cassette. I have seen on eBay Ford single CD players.
Are these a direct swap please.

Thanks

Sean

if you want to get a multichanger make sure you get a 6000CD with a rotary volume knob and not volume buttons, as those aren't capable of controlling a changer.

Hi Quicksilver
Many thanks again. It was as I hoped. I did not know about the 6006e which i will try to source.
I also read a useful article on retro fitting a remote control switch with pictures albeit fo a puma.

Thanks again

Sean

The audio remote kit from a similar aged Mondeo will fit BUT it can be a bit of a minefield due to varients in the wiring.
I believe there may be a couple of kits for sale on the forum at the moment.
