Just a quick message to say hello having just joined the group. I've had my Cougar X-Pack for about 18 months (I bought it the day my girlfriend went into labour so it must have been a good omen) and this is my second Cougar (my first one I used for 6 years but hit it hard with mileage). I have made a few minor modifications including Janspeed exhaust, SS manifolds and Y Pipe, ST200 Upper, Lower and Throttle body and an induction kit (which was fitted when I bought it). I've also just done the brakes including the 300mm upgrade, EBC redstuff pads (front and rear), Black Diamond grooved disks (front and rear) and braided hoses. Looking for suspension improvements next with an eye on some body modifications.

Very nice, Balley.

Sounds like you've got the jump on all the essential mods there (ST200 kit, decat headers and brake upgrade) so hopefully you've got a solid base to work from.

Good luck!

I was tempted into buying this one because it was in such good condition and was pretty much standard apart from a cone filter and a set of 17 inch Dare alloys (which had the wrong size tyres). I was weighing up the possibilities of getting my old cougar back on the road and was looking into using the X-type running gear and engine (3 litre) but it's paintwork was dodgy (thanks to the local council strimming beside the car) and it has over 160,000 miles on the clock (it had 23,000 when I bought it!).

The exhaust (cat-back) and wheels were salvaged from my old car - 18 inch team dynamics - but I've since had to revert back to the old wheels thanks to pot hole damage badly buckling one of them. Unfortunately one of the tyres on the 17s had failed (the wall collapsing) so I bought a set of 4 Dunlop Sportmax. I don't like the look of the 17s as much as the 18s but they're a lot lighter and they don't look too bad.

I will look into the subscription as there's loads I would like to do to this cat that I could never do on the old one. I see you're local to me, I'm from Mansfield but now live in Newark
