Hi there - have I gone completely mad?

Hi there

After years as a puma driver I had to buy a ford Ka when my daughter was learning to drive. Now that she has passed her test I was looking for something a bit more nippy to replace the Ka and came across this -

It all seemed stuck together OK and sounded nice with very burbly exhaust on it so I've very rashly stuck a deposit down on her and will be picking her up next week.

Having previously been a member of pumapeople and as my husband seems to spend all his time on his car forum I thought that it would be a good idea to sign up here so that you can all tell me that I've gone completely mad

Nice choice Sue, and yes, you are completely mad, it's more of an addiction than anything.
I'm on my second cat, bought it 2 weeks ago and still keep looking admiringly out the window at it.
Welcome to the madhouse.

It looks a lovely car, you will find that the cougar is much better screwed together than a puma, plus you dont get the problems with rust like the puma.
The only real problems you have to look out for is the wishbones when it comes up for its Mot, and alternator problems, but apart from that there isn't much that goes wrong with them.

Ps also on my 2nd Cougar, :)

Thanks for the warm welcome - it's a V6 with 64k on the clock. I was looking for a standard one but - much to my husband's disgust - fell in love with this 'beast' when I saw her. I really wanted one with leather seats, which this one doesn't have - but at least it should turn a few more heads than the Ka did!! (and its got less rust on it!!).

Hi Sue and welcome to ukcougar.com, your in the right place for all things cougar related, as well as some crazy banter. You will also be able to find all the fixes you need in our subscriber sections. Have a browse around the open forums and get a feel for the place. Remember! ukcougar.com is the only workshop manual for the big cat.
Nice looking cat, looks familiar. Oh, and one other thing regarding madness. If you consider yourself "sane" now! try to remember what it feels like and let us know, cos we all lost the plot ages ago. :D
