Just wondering how rare is the Cougar ?

Since I left the deposit on my one, I have been looking out for other Cougars and as yet I have not seen a single one in my town.

Are there many left ?

I have actually seen more Probes on the roads than Cougars.

Also, is the C2 much rarer than C1's or is it the other way round ?

Believe something like 12,000 C1's and around 500 C2's were made and registered in this country. Obviously there going to be quite a few less than that now due to crashes/breaking etc.

As above really.

Problem with the cougar was when Ford brought it out they were charging BMW money for it and were surprised when it didn't out sell 'better' more established cars.

Now, its a bargain cruiser - but when it was new, not so

Wow - Only 500 C2's !

All the more reason why I now seriously need to find a pair of C2 Headlights then to replace the C1 lights I have just now !

That means there were more Sinclair C5's made than Cougars in the country ( 17,000 C5's were built ) !

(( I am a mad fan/collector of the Sinclair C5 too and currently have a shed full of them ! ))

Its ok mate, I have a C1 grille fitted on the car just now to go with the C1 lights, but I still have the C2 grille in the boot of the car ready :)

Yeah 440 C2's and about 11,000 C1's that makes the C2 more exclusive than a Ferrari Enzo IIRC. But its small fry when you think 200 examples of the Puma Racing exist and only 200 RS200's, still its more exclusive than a RS500

Theres a Puma Racing lives near to me. Don't like it much to be honest and its not been very well looked after, its a bit of a mess

A friend of mine has a racing puma, he has had it since new, and its now on 160,000 miles, he went to a garage the other day to re mot the car and they told him it was going to cost over £2000 to repair, so he was going to scrap the car.
I told him to try somewhere else and all it failed on was a small hole on the exhaust and some minor odds and sods so the garage have repaired the car and re moted it for £400.
Now I wish I bought that car for scrap, it would have complemented the cougar well lol

True that the Puma would of complimented the Cougar well - My partner wants a Ford Probe, but I am trying to get her to by a Frosty Puma as I think it would look great outside my house having a frosty Puma and a frosty Cougar next to each other !

Then all I would have to do is sell my Mazda Van and buy a "frosty" Transit !

Once you've got your cat, prepare to see many more popping up around where you live

I experienced the same thing - when I first got my cat I could count on one hand the number of Cougars I'd seen around Liverpool. Not so now, they seem to be popping up everywhere

Oh, and good look sourcing the C2 headlights - they are as rare as Hen's teeth and when they do pop up on ebay, prepare to empty your wallet as they fetch a hefty premium due to the rarity and demand (y)

I know what you mean, in half a mile of me there are 3 cougars, and yesterday I went out and what car lets me out the top of the road but a cougar lol

Still they are that rare that you will only ever see one at a time, most other cars come in two's or three's, remember the other day seeing two identical cars in a row and thought to myself "pah you don't get that with the cat" ;) just the faceless eurobox's
