So last weekend my neighbour came over and asked if I was still thinking of selling my cougar (tried to sell it when I got my Jag a few years ago, but no bites). So he had a quick look with his son-in-law.

Just spoke to him again and he says they will have it when I'm ready  no need to fix the dent and he didn't knock me down on price so can't look a gift horse in the mouth really.

I'm waiting to get my Jag back so in a couple of weeks I am probably Cougar-less; I'll be looking for something smaller like a Fiesta to have as a runabout.

Makes sense when you've got the XK as the fun car. I did the same when I bought the RX four years ago....and here I am. Again

Make sure the new owner finds their way here (y)

Not sure it's going to affect you guys over there, but if you're buying a new car Ford put out a press release a month or two ago about stopping production of alot of their cars in the US. To the extent of only making the Focus and Mustang. If they actually go through with it I can see all cars but those 2 being a pain in the butt to get parts for like the cougar is now in the years to come. Good luck with whatever you go with though, and just cause your cougarless isn't an excuse not to stop by and say hey once in awhile. The Jag's looking awesome as well. I can see that repair lasting for years to come.

My initial reaction to that was a howl of rage. But if all Ford are selling in volume is F-150s, and the only saloons shifting in any volume are Camrys? Yeah. I get it. The US is taking a direction that we won't entirely follow.

I fully intend to point the new owner in this direction, and I also intend to stay here for a while too - maybe not fully paid-up though, we'll see

I'm not part of the mod team so might be speaking out of turn, but the paid areas are there to cater to people who need technical information that isn't available elsewhere and which we have generated ourselves. Being a paid member also gives you show privileges (because we have to cover insurance and costs).

For my part, I don't think less of people whose username is light blue. They are still friends if they want to be.

Well the thing is its not just F150s that are selling. We have the fusion and the fiesta. They just up and decided "nah people don't buy those" they're just not that cool.

You dont have to be paid to say hey. However to post on any posts in member areas I think you have to be. Like when I needed to pay my subscription for this year I think I was having problems posting on my el couguar post due to not having permission, which sucks cause its my post.

So today I became Cougar-less.
Kitty has been bought by the neighbours son-in-law - on the recommendation of my neighbour as he knew I looked after it.
He was chuffed when I presented him with a folder of receipts and history. I will be seeing her from time to time when the new owner visits my neighbour.
I have told him in no uncertain terms he should join UKCC - he told me he's already looked at the site so hopefully another new member.
