Ok, finally got up the courage to do the brakes this weekend only to find all was ok with them and they have plenty of life left yet.
When I got to the front passenger, and as I was about to put the wheel back on, I seen it was badly buckled on the inside, no doubt the cause of my car judder at higher speeds that I'd been suffering.
I have to admit at this stage I did give it a belt or two before putting it back on, in the hope some of that judder may dissappear, thats what you do when you don't know any better, anyway, that cracked the alloy(didn't notice it at the time) and caused the tyre to puncture, the guy down our tyre place said there is no point in fixing it as it would go down right away.
Now to make matters worse i have to put it through an MoT this week and so a new set of wheels have to be got.
I can only hope things can get better, I've only had it 3 weeks.

Maurice, you should have given me a shout mate. Did you use a rubber mallet on it when you tried to correct the buckle ?
Also you should have swapped the alloy to the back of the car, that way you would not feel the judder under braking that bad. I got a set of standard alloys here if you need some wheels with good tyres to get you through the MOT mate. Give me a shout if you need my help at all.

Hi Peter, hope you and the family are well.

I started with a rubber mallet but the head snapped, it was a bit old.
Then I went in with a steel hammer, not too much, just enought to completely ruin the wheel. lol
I might take you up on that offer of your set if I can't get a set soon, very good of you and much appreciated.

Yes we are all good this end. Yeah the steel hammer will do that to an alloy wheel mate lol !!!
Well if you get stuck and need something to just get you through the MOT you know where I am. Like I said, the wheels and tyres are good enough to get the car a pass if you struggle to get some in time.

Cheers
At least I dont have to worry about that so much now.
Been looking on ebay but not much about without having to travel miles.

No worries, Yeah that is always a problem with buying wheels. I got lucky with mine and got a great deal.
It really depends on what you are after, what size you want and how deep your pockets are.

Peter
I would like to take you up on your offer, It will save me rushing to get the others and I have the mondeo to get about in.
When would be a convenient time to get them.

Glad we could help each other Peter, makes me glad I joined up on here again to see there some great people on here, ready and willing to help.
