Just had a random contact from another owner of my previous cougar!

I'm a member of another car forum for my wifes car, someone had recently joined due to having swapped their cougar in against one. They then saw my for sale ad from a year ago and realised it was the car they had just had!

It's quite nice to hear what happens next but it's gone through a fair few owners!

A few of the regular members will remember that it was my second cougar and I purchased it from a member called 'theBridge' (Gary), it had an MIJ exhaust, lowered, elglow dials, and was blue with blue decals on the side.

Due to circumstances I only kept it for 6 months (I was 3rd owner), and I sold it to someone who joined on here. It looks like he only kept it a few months before selling it on to someone else, who then only had it for a few weeks before swapping it on swapz.com to the bloke who emailed me (6th owner) - he kept it for about 6 months but the fuel bill was getting too high so he tried to sell it but couldn't get a buyer and ended up using swapz.com again to swap it for his current diesel family car.

So it's gone from me being the 3rd owner 1 year ago to it now being on it's 7th owner!

He said it was still a cracking car and flew along, only repair he had to do was to change the starter motor, which to be honest I thought the bloke after me bought a second hand one on here.

So good to hear it is still going strong, in a way a bit dissapointed to hear how many owners it has had but then I guess lots of people have enjoyed it!

Happy New year to everyone too - I don't post much here now but do check back in from time to time to see what's happening etc.

Hello chap - Happy New Year to you too, and good to hear from you again.

I've never actually sold a car - I've always kept them until they're uneconomical to repair - but I imagine it must be nice to know that it's still out there, soldiering on.

Heh - come to think of it, its original wheels still are too!

That's good going to have never needed to sell a car! I've been through quite a few. I'd say the Cougar was the best value for money though. I think I'm slowing down. I've still got the Volvo that replaced the Cougar a year ago and we've had the wifes car for over 4 years now.

Glad to here the wheels are still going!

My car history isn't that massive and I tend to run them until they're not economical. So they have very long lives that end at the scrapper.

Your wheels are going to live as long as my car, and they're getting a full refurb in the spring with new shoes, courtesy of VAG. Always wanted summer and winter sets.

I don't know the name of the company - they're a specialist that do work for VAG in Milton Keynes and my brother-in-law is sorting it through his dealership. All above board but at cost as a one-off.

He'd probably run another set or two through, but I don't know it it'd be economical for you given the drive?

I can find out if you like, though.

You're probably right with the drive, I had seen one posted on here a year or so back (by JJ if I remember correctly) and that was dirt cheap but in Birmingham and I've never bothered due to it being a bit too far!
