Mako (the Cougar) and Jinxy (the Rover) together at home. Jinxy has outlived two stablemates, but I don't think she's bothered.

I am really surprised that as big as the Cougar feels, it's only about a foot longer than the Rover 200 Coupe, and a bare few inches wider, even in the tail...

A low angle that most of you must have seen before, but which I am still impressed by. Looking at this foreshortened photo, there's some Alfa Romeo GTV in that styling. It's no worse off for it, I think.

To be honest Chris - anything would be better than frosty :geek:

Tell me again how often you have to wash that big green lump so it doesn't show the dirt...? :p

Anyway, it's not like I had a choice in colour. But if I had? Panther Black. It's the only other colour the Cougar belongs in.

To be honest Chris - I was after an ebony one before I saw and fell in love with GG (only G when I first got her :geek:)

I take solace from the fact that Tourmaline is the rarest cat colour - only used in the last few months of C1 production (C2s are Amazon) whereas frostys make up about 75% of the cougar population :p.

As for cleaning her - Tourmaline is, in fact, the only self cleaning paint that ford made - very expensive - hence the short production run. Here she is at the NW/Manchester meet today (picture courtesy of Danmo) - not having been cleaned for months (y)

AAARGH!!!! Fried eggs!! make em go away.....

 I think you'll find it's EBONY, if your referring to the black cougar. Having said that though, Panther black is a very interesting colour, lots of metal in it. :)

Nice to see a standard frosty though, well done mako

I hadn't even considered buying a Cougar until my brother-in-law (a car salesman*) pointed out what-is-now-my-car to me on AutoTrader. He and my missus basically said that if I didn't buy it, they would have me certified and locked in the loft. The point is that colour wasn't really a factor in the buying process, but I like it.

The green's a nice shade though - never seen one in the metal, but from your photos it looks almost like a light BRG? Type III maybe?

Sorry, yes - I was thinking of the Focus. I'm new to all this Ford stuff. My history is all Cadillacs, Camaros and Rovers. Spot the odd-one-out. o_O

But thank you! I'm going to do a couple bits and pieces - nothing drastic or irreversible and mostly under the bonnet - but I'll keep the look standard.

* I didn't by the car from him - he was looking around for cars for me as mine had gone bang.
