Guys,

This site will now be using a new type of software on here for mobile browsing.

It is called forum runner

it can be purchased from the android market and apple store for around a quid and is designed to work with the forum software a lot better than tapatalk.

I will be leaving tapatalk enabled on the forum for a month to allow people to transistion over but after that it will be removed. It causes me too much of a headache keeping tapatalk on here as every time I update it has to be manually added.

Forum Runner is managed with the updates from vbulletin so will have no faults or issues.

£1.49 on iTunes. Is this move for keeps and are we staying with the host then? Only asking as its another lot of software that has to be bought to use the forum and is it worth it if swap hosts?

This software move is for keeps. Tapatalk is 3rd party software designed for a whole host of forum platforms. Forum Runner is designed only for vbulletin. As such vbulletin have now taken forum runner and included it in the builds I update the forum with. I have complete control of it in the admin pannel (tapatalk I have none) and if forum runner is updated I have a build of it ready compiled into the forum software when I download the monthly update. In a nutshell it is faster, more stable and less hassle to work with.

I forgot to mention it also allows the mods I have done to the site to be used on a mobile as well..

for example by clicking on a users post you can do things like thank them, send pm to them just like the main site.

Embedded pics and videos will display on the app and not have to run from the phone browser.

I'll give this a go tomorrow. Need to update my google wallet with my new card first.

Will this mean all the Tapatalk hosted pics will be lost when you remove it?

Only thing I've found that's a bit of a pain is you can't zoom in on images like you could with Tapatalk. Other than that, all is well ;)

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S II using Forum Runner

That is on the gripe list and will be a function soon.

And Manos no images will be lost. I will only be removing the access to the site via tapatalk

Cheers Rob. I was only asking on Si's behalf as all his for sale pics are hosted by Tapatalk.

True, there's quite a few images actually that are Tapatalk hosted??

On a side note, got the new software and it's just like the Talk Ford one. Every log in I get a Parse Error telling me the host software is out of date, so I thought I'll grab a screen shot and post it up, turns out I can't upload images from my phone either as they exceed the quota!! It was only a screen shot on an iPhone 4S.

Also get the Parse Error when trying to view user profiles and use moderation tools. Locks them out so they can't be used. Also there doesn't appear to be a topics/posts awaiting approval thing like on Tapatalk? Unless I just haven't found it??

Only been using forum runner for a few minutes and I like it. Very fast too and some nice features.
However the 'profile' button on the menu gives an error 'the remote server sent an unknown response'.

I get that too, everything else seems to work though. :)
