The cougar now has another 12 months to live :)

In the end it just cost £30 for the repairs (2 universal lambda sensors), and about 7 hours of lying under the car :cautious:

I already had brake pipe and unions in, so really the majority of it was time.

I've done the bare minimum to get it through the MOT but I still have a few more jobs to do.

Advisory wise it needs:

Inner CV Boot
Front ARB

Other bits I can see that could do with doing are:

Gear change cable (or atleast rubber)
Front Crank Seal (I think)
Power steering pipes looking corroded
Power steering cooler looks a little wet
Another small portion of brake pipe is starting to corrode

Interestingly the MOT tester had just had the new rules through to start in April. He showed me that the CV Boot advisory would now be a fail (from April) he also said the split type of boot were no longer allowed (it didn't say this on his rules though - so I doubted him to be honest).

Oil wise the bottom of the sump and the power steering pump are very wet with oil, I was surprised how wet due to the fact that it doesn't drip on the drive, after a bit more of a look it appears to be landing on the exhaust just before the cat so must be burning off.

Will post a new thread in the relevant section on the gear cable.

For now though I'm happy!

Well done on the pass and particularly on putting in the elbow grease yourself (y)

Always a relief to get another 12 month ticket :)
