I always get my mechanic to take mine so MOT tester knows any work that needs doing won't be going their way, worth paying him the £25 plus the MOT cost and so far for the last 10 years all's gone well

I had something similar with Tiger for her first MOT with me. The tester claimed that the welds weren't up to standard.

The welds were done by a professional welder.

The tester: "But it's okay - I could buy the car from you for maybe £150?"

Me: "No. I'll just take it in for scrap. I'd rather destroy it."

His face was a picture. And Tiger lived for another 7 years.
