my cougar that i driving around this know is going in for its mot next thursday going to remove towbar before it goes in as the eletrics are not wired right and have no relay for the indicators. but my question is regarding the screen wash light its always on is this now an mot failure? if so i will need to do something about it this saturday rather than getting the other cougar off the axle stands

Can be a failure as it indicates that there isn't enough washer fluid to clean the windscreen thus impairing driving, but something like this will probably be down to indivdual tester/garage, especially if there actually is fluid there...

the issue i have is there is water and the jets work so thats a job for the weekend may have to take a bit off my other cougar tempory to get this one through its mot

i will fix it any way its realy anoying now been on since i got it, although i have notice if a jerk the car by accident the light will go out for a second so i think its the sensor will get it removed clean it all up and see what happens

make me an offer no idea what its worth but selling it is better than it sitting in the garage, i said 50 quid orignaly but i think thats overpriced £30 reasnoble?

Sounds like you're removing it anyway but the electrics on a standard tow bar aren't going to be tested under the new rules (according to my MOT tester). I was told that they will only be testing the new Euro type single 13pin socket. With the older type where you had either 1 or 2 sockets with less pins they won't do an electrical test.

Just had mine MOt today and it passed!! Tow bars will be checked for security, and from April they have a 13 pin plug to test the wiring. The older (5 pin) plugs cannot be tested.

tried to take the towbar off today took one look and discoverd my hands are two big to get they bolts out so had to leave it alone gonnd news on mot testing though and mine goes in on thursday so should not have any issues
