I'm assuming that's a custom made system being that it's centre outlet. It looks good, a refreshing change from the norm.(y)

yeah it was custom made, when i dropped it off to him i just said make it sound good! i didn't have a clue what it was going to look like!! but he knows what i like and i trust him and it definately sounds good!!!! lol

Yes it's certainly different, but looks good - and you can't beat the growl you get with a nice exhaust system :)

Might be worth having a word with Al (Pid_16V) regarding a bumper infill - possibly knock a custom one together for you considering it's got a centre exit (y)

i have to be carefull, i have a tendancy to start getting too involved with this sort of thing. i'm a fleet manager of a chauffeur company in london and i spend (through the company) about 4-8 grand a month with the local garage and anything from 50 grand a year upwards with a body shop so alot of my bits and bobs such as the exhaust and services and machine polishes are free for me! (lucky ******* i know) but i have another car i spend most of my time and money on and i promised the wife i wouldn't get carried away with this one!
however the odd small change here and there and i'm hoping she won't notice much of it! lol
my current plans are:
rear badges removed and body machine polished.
wheels sprayed gloss black.
rear lights and brake lights smoked.
mercury cougar front grill.

but i'll have to see how much i can get done for free (tight ******* i know) and how much the wife will let me get away with! lol

Looking good mate, when you say it's a custom built exhaust, do mean completely custom or is it an "off the shelf" then modified to fit? Do those twin exits go into one box? or is it straight through to the mid box silencer? Anyway, looking cool, and as it was mentioned before - have a word with Al aka Pid_16v about having a custom built infill (it won't cost much I wouldn't think...mine didn't).

You lucky lucky swine. Both my cars could do with a professional detail!

Nice look for the exhaust btw

ha ha thanks guys, if this is an assylum i'm gonna fit in well! lol
it's kind of cheating with the exhaust really, the back box has been removed and it's a straight through pipe to the centre box. where he got the actual exhaust pipe and tailpipe from i don't know but he did the same to my old escort and the pipe was taken off an M3!! it sounds umbelievable for a 1.6efi engine! people keep asking me if i had a V8 under the bonnet, so when i bought the cougar i had to see what it sounded like with an actual V6! i haven't been dissappointed!!

Know the feeling, till mine was sorted a few years back, unless you realy reved it you couldn't hear the engine (I sat at a show once with it running, and had to tell someone it was, they didn't know) but now it purrs on tick over :)
