Just had my car into a local garage for tracking as it was a bit out, £33 for Laser alignment not bad but then tried to sting me for another £200 for jobs they said needed doing ! My how I laughed, said discs were worn out and pads too, wanted £69.50 for discs and £60 for pads and also £36 for anti roll bar drop link. His face was a picture when I said it had just passed an MOT and I had only just inspected the brakes myself as I was going to overhaul them and had found nothing wrong, gave some lame excuse that MOT brake test are not that stringent !!!!!! Makes you wonder how many people get done. :cautious:
 
You're lucky you didn't get the whole, "I can't let you drive it away from here in that condition" thing, which is of course total balls.
 
I wish I hadn't listened to a similar thing when I used to own my Avensis - that one cost me £1400 in repairs which they said 'needed doing'. Should have done the same as you and laughed and driven the car out of there.
 
Jobs they do are good and cheap, had an exhaust earlier this year off them and they tried to get me to have a new radiator as it was weeping a bit, bit of Radweld and it was sorted. Some poor young girl was in getting told there was loads wrong with her Mini and that it was dangerous. Lucky Im handy with spanners and can sort most stuff myself.
