just thought i'd post a quick pic of my other car....
it's not a cougar but is a ford!! (can't help it i do love a ford)
it's a limited edition escort xr3i cabriolet. i had to rebuild it after an accident involving a police car (long story) but it's now almost fully restored this is a picture from last summer as i haven't had it out yet this year.

Very nice matey, also liking old skool, however, not really into cab's...ahem...hairdressers cars!! LOL (not that I would advise you are one ofcourse! lol) I much prefer the hardtop version. But great project there.

The problem with the old MkIV Escort is the tin-rot, gets everywhere, most noticibly the arches and the slam pannel, around the battery tray and the scutle plate were the windscreen meets the body. Cabs get even more abuse than the hard-tops though, with leaky roofs and people standing on the rear seats (who do they think they are, Adolf Hitler?) there are some nice examples out there that even now will set you back over £5000

well i've spent in the region of 8-10 grand on it in the last 6 years, but that is having to rebuild it twice as after the first rebuild i hit a police car!(D'OH)
@ wildV6 - i wish i had hair in the first place mate!
@ - Relliot - the colour is called Oatmeal, it a cross between a number of colours from what i have found out including Inca gold. it was one of the last mark 4 cabbys ever made and was a run off paint model, very rare now as even at ford fair i haven't seen another one in this colour!
@ - stribo - couldn't agree more mate that photo was taken last year, i've been after some original carello spots for ages but in good condition they are like rocking horse droppings, managed to get some over the winter and some lovely little covers to protect them as well!

Actualy that looks alright (must have been having a weird one when I said it wasn't) ....says the man who had 4 spots on the front of his Escort and a couple on the front of his Orion ;)
