Well, after having my lowering springs and associated components lying around the garage for some time now, I decided to bite the bullet and get them fitted. I started on the drivers side, supposedly the easiest side. I replaced the wishbone, suspension damper and lowering spring, steering rack end and fitted my new uprated drop links. Everything was easily enough replaced, but, getting it all to fit back together was a bitch and a half of a job. My drive shaft fell to bits when I was trying to align the hub into the ball joint, so, I had to replace that with the one from the C2 I dismantled. Luckily I had that in the garage. I gave up at 8pm on Thursday evening as I had run out of ideas. Friday morning a different story. Took a hefty kick at the hub and it all fell into place. Tightened everything up, replaced the calliper and bled the brakes. Wow, what a difference. Due to inclement weather conditions it was Tuesday before I could tackle the passenger side, supposedly the harder side to do. After two hours the job was complete and I had a virtually new front suspension fitted. Got the four wheel laser alignment done yesterday for 20 quid and the car is running a treat. Just waiting for my stainless brake hoses to be delivered so I can fit my Focus ST brake upgrade as well. Will have to see my mate about getting an inch taken off the rear dampers so I can get the lowering springs fitted on the back.
