Hello and welcome to the forum.

If you don't mind sharing your reg. no. we might be able to give you a bit of history for it. (y)

Thanks and I was wondering about the timing belt/chain as the car I bought is just over 100k miles and I have no idea if its been changed o_O

That reg. no. is not in our list but at least one of the previous owners must of been a member here in order to obtain the stickers.

Are the stickers .com or .org?

That's good to know it seems like it's been well looked after must of been someone's pride and joy before mine as they modified it and all seems in great condition except rust on wheel archs

Of all the things that might go wrong with a Duratec 25, the timing chains would be very low on the list of things I would be worried about.

Main bearing shells are usually the thing. And you can prevent that with regularly scheduled oil changes. Look after her and she'll look after you.

Thanks I'm going to take her into get checked over on my next day off just hope I have a bit of luck this time and I agree on all but the women (y)

welcome aboard (y)
Depends what you mean by faults as opposed to wear and tear issues. I would say faults could be IMRC failure and sunroof failure. Common wear and tear issues are front wishbones depending on mileage, rollbar droplinks, alternator, and I'm sure other members will list what I haven't. But the common faults can generally be obtained by trawling the internet especially the forums here, some of which need a subscription to access.

any point??

I'm going to take my car in for a full service and was thinking about getting her remapped for performance has anyone had this done and was it worth it ????? Thanks
