Hello, just bought my cat three weeks ago and have fallen in love with it, it's a fantastic machine! Just a pitty that there's so extremely few of them in Norway o_O
Anyways, I have a few questions about it witch I hope you can answer for me
1. The centre-console-thing seems to be a little bit loose, and easy to wiggle. Is there anything to to with this, or is it something I'll have to live with?
2. If i were to upgrade to 17'' wheels, would the air-pressure need to stay the same as with the 16'' wheels?
3. When I start it up (V6), it revs a bit high (just one high rev when it comes to life), and then it's normal. I don't get the feeling that it's a fault with the engine, but you tell me

Welcome!

centre console - hard to know, if you mean the main part under the armrest yes it is a bit on the floppy side, or perhaps you have a screw or two loose!

tyres - Ford spec for the ST200 (std size 215/45/17) is 34F / 31R which is what I put in mine

startup..........um.......yeah....someone here will know that's for sure ;)

1 - the centre console fixings are at the front and inside the armrest just check they are all there(3 inside armrest)
2 - tyre pressure is about the same 32-34 psi but you will have to change to 215/45/17 or 225/45/17 tyres to keep the speedo correct

3 - my V6 does exactly the same on start-up
4 - welcome to the site (y)

sounds like a sensor issue, try cleaning up the MAF sensor, it may not be reading correctly, there are other sensors that can cause the same issue but as its the easiest one to get to and clean start there (y)

First of all, hello and welcome!

1) If we are talking about the console under the armrest, both of mine are wobbly and no amount of tightening the screws helps because there's too much flexibility in the plastic that it's made from. Apparently it can be improved by creating a brace out of those perforated metal repair strips and winding slightly longer screws through it. I don't remember who told me that so I'm afraid I can't credit them...

3) Just how high does it rev? From a cold start mine goes to 1750RPM, then immediately down to 1250RPM. Then over the course of about 10 seconds, it drops to 1000RPM. After maybe 30 more seconds it drops down to about 980RPM or so. I believe this is about normal, (I've got no sensor faults and the inlet is spotless) so it should give you something to compare to.

it's like it's on choke...for all those old school types lol!!!)

Strictly speaking, that's exactly what it's doing. It's in open loop and trying to work out what the sensors are telling it, so it dumps in fuel and air to keep the motor running before working out where it actually should be.
