Just got my cougar, a first for me so its all a bit new, it has had two keepers, full service history and 104,000 miles on it, sits on 205/55/16 v fronts and 225/50/16v on the back, not sure which tire size to go with on all four wheels or stay with the mix ?.

Welcome mate nice to have another car not far away.
Thats exactly what mine had when i bought it - no real problem. Im currently running 205s but some do consider this 'under-tyred'. Ive never had a problem though. The correct size is 215 which were for some time hard to get hold of but I do know Kumho definetly do them. Whereabouts are you?

Depending on condition of your current tyres, your first decision should be are you keeping the standard wheels? if you are then 215/50/16 tyres all round would be my suggestion, if you go up a size or 2 in wheel then i would strongly suggest 225/40/17 or 18 Remember the tyre gives you traction for driving and stopping safely ALWAYS buy the BEST tyre you can afford (y)

Want to keep the stock wheels as i like them, the stock tire size is thin on the ground i hear , the 225/50/16v look nice on the back so if there is no probs with them i would go for them all round.
