Hi Guys

well after dabbling with some VAG products for a while I thought I'd come back to the blue oval in the shape of a '99 Silver Frost X-Packed V6!
Price was right and even though she's got 92K on the clock she still pulls like a train and makes that lovely V6 noise we all love!!

sadly that's pretty much the end of the good news, this poor baby's been badly neglected and has spent most of the past year standing....what this cat needs is some very large helpings of TLC, looks like I got me a bit of a project here!

so, today has seen a new battery, some wonder wheels, and some bulbs, and lots of searching for parts - replacement head unit, tailgate lifters, front grille - that's just for starters..
The bodywork is remarkably straight with no dings anywhere, there's a bit of dodgy touch-up work on the nearside sill, and the obligatory scrape on the rear bumper.
as for the details the more I look the more I see needs doing, I think I'm going to have to accept she'll never be a looker, but with plenty of efffort this cat can regain some of it's former glory

hope to chat to some of you soon, and look forward to contributing to the site if I can
if interested will keep you posted on progress

Hi Steve, welcome to ukcougar.com, your in the right place for all things cougar related, as well as some crazy banter. You will also be able to find all the fixes you need in our subscriber sections. Have a browse around the open forums and get a feel for the place. Remember! ukcougar.com is the only workshop manual for the big cat.
Looks like your images are blocked. Try setting up a photobucket account for your images etc.

As you can see she's in a pretty sorry state - oh well let the cleaning commence!

Looks clean enough to put the effort in mate you'll be surprised how well that will come out looking if you're prepared to put the elbow grease into it.

Welcome to the club.

Thanks for the welcome guys!!

have posted up the pics again but seem to be waiting for a Mod to approve?

Hi Steve and welcome to the home of the Cougar. If you are looking for parts for your car have a look in the Breakers Yard threads on the forum. There are a few of us who are breaking cars and have plenty of bits and pieces for sale.

Not that bad at all Steve, Mine was much worse than that when i picked it up, it looked like it was used as a farm truck for a bit, and it's not much better now...:)
Bit of elbow grease and it will be fine... :geek:

I used LiquidLeather on my BMW seats, It's fantastic stuff, a couple of coats using some make-up sponges and it looked like new and lasted no problems...
