Hi

Just bought 2000 2.5 Cougar as a temporary car and I'm blown away and smitten with it.

Bought it whilst my Alfa is having a long term repair and I now don't want my Alfa back.

Getting around 35 mpg on my commute - ok mainly motorway but still great.

Based in Cambridge area.

Looking forward to using the forum - only downside of car - what is with the crap headlights ?

Or replace with a set of C2 lamps ;) even brighter standard bulbs might help depending on when they were changed last. HIDs are a nice option but there is a concern with MOTs in the future regarding aftermarket HID kits but it maybe unfounded. The fault I think is the dipped beam using the projector lens not enough light distribution

Hi Keith and welcome to Cougar ownership. I had HID's fitted to my C2 and it failed it's MOT so I got a set of 100W Xenon headlight bulbs and they make a very big difference to the standard ones.

Hello and Welcome to Cougarland (y)

I've got Osram nightbreaker unlimited (+110%) in my dips which are much better than the stock candles, but like a lot of people i'll be fitting HIDs at some point this year (mine won't fail its MOT with HIDs fitted as i work for a car dealer)

My C2 lights are just as crap as the originals...just a smoother lens... ;- )

was that u tearing down the a14 last week in a lovely looking black one.. im from stneots so if u see a blue one thumbs up!
I took my headlights apart and found the lenses were all foggy, after a clean up they were a lot better...still put hids in though mine got through mot ok.

Hello and welcome. Yes the lights aren't the best (foglights included).
I have Osram Nightbreakers in mine too, I can tell a difference dipped.
Main beam is fine though.

Glad to hear you are enjoying your Cougar !
