The heater flap motor is the most likely culprit. There is an excellent How-To in the subscribers section which explains how they can be repaired.

Looks lovely. We had this problem too and followed the how too recommended above. All working ok now

Flap motor is an easy fix, check vacuum pipes behind the rear cylinder head as well
