OBD-II Port

Pull the panel off beneath the steering column and it is to the right hand side (around where your right knee would be when sat in the drivers seat) (y)
 
Post up before you start changing parts if you have a fault, we may be able to advise further testing/repairs.

I'm not a great fan of OBD, multimeter/'scope is every bit, if not more useful on some occasions!

I just wanted to run a quick check to see if there were any warnings on my reader... The car can stall on occasion and the revs can hunt a little when coming to a stop and it's warmed up... Probably nothing more than a sensor that needs a clean, but I wanted to double check with me reader first to see if anything else was up too...
 
Thanks - that's what I was wondering... I seem to remember those things from my Mk1 Mondeo 2.0 days! Like I say though, I just wanted to check to see if anything else was being reported...
 
Didn't want to start a new thread so thought i'd post in here. I got a lend of a MaxiScan MS300, Is this the port that i should connect it to ?

That's the boy. You might want to grab it from behind with your other hand when plugging in as it has a habit of popping out of its mounting :rolleyes:
 
Just hooked it up there and it found one fault. PO402. EGR flow excessive. Would this have any connection to my car cutting out when slowing down/coming to a stop shortly after starting it up ?
My abs kicks in also in slow moving traffic so thought it might have picked up a sensor fault too but it was just the EGR fault that showed.
On my phone so can't really check related posts and the signal is crap at the moment

Here lies another problem, When i turn the ignition the engine management light doesn't light up at all, oil, battery airbag do but this doesn't and it should according to the manual.
 
Might have have a go at blanking the EGR on mine too. Sounds like a horrible little device, puts me in mind of the Human Centipede but for cars.. I feel sorry for the old girl now, haha
 
ten minute job.

headlight surround - two screws
pull stereo out
pull heated screen switches out
stereo/HVAC surround - four/five-ish screws (two hidden behind the ashtray/cig lighter surround)
binnacle cover - three-ish screws and a good tug
instruments are then there for the taking :)
