Plastic tab things in't roof

Hi,

The four plastic tabs in the roof that give access to the partition between the outer and inner bodywork. Why are they up there? There are similar tabs on my wifes Golf but they are in the sills and there to put preserving chemicals (ACF50 and the like) in the sills to stop them rusting.

Do these serve the same purpose?

You don't mean the ones for fitting a roof rack do you?

As Matt says, you remove them for access to the roof bar fitting points.

If you do remove them though, put in a safe place as they are like rocking horse poo and very difficult to get hold of should you need a spare/break one.

I keep meaning to do mine, as she will never have a roof rack while I own her!! lol
