Well did a round trip from Worcester to Shepton Mallet last night, throwing it down, 85 on the mway, then A37 through bristol for way home as no traffic around, according to the computer I'm averaging 31mpg.
My 2.0 mondeo was no better than that!
Saw a probe on the M5 too which got me all nostalgic.
 
Well thank you folks for your kind words.
I thought I'd give you a little update now I've had it a week.
On Tuesday I discovered one of the rear tyres was worn on the inside edge and horribly lumpy - it was a nasty remould anyway so had it replaced. Tyres are 205/50 on front and 225/50 on rear - after MOT in May I'll be ordering four correct ones.
On Wednesday I took the car to Shepton Mallet after work, down via the m5, 80 in the pouring rain, then back via a37 and Bristol, no problems at all and 31.5 to the gallon according to the trip computer.
Today I discovered that it is an 'X' pack car after all, sadly CD changer is missing but I never would have thought to look for the seat switches there! Now I've found them it seems quite sensible though! Good clean inside and out, air freshener etc
When I get paid next week I'll be getting her serviced and paying my subscription - I want to get in on the act on all these other forums.

Good to hear you are enjoying your new acquisition Matt. Do you do that trip regularity as I'm not far from junction 14 of the M5 and even nearer to junction 18 of the M4. Is the loom for your CD changer still in situ as I've got a HU which takes 6 cd's so my changer is in the boot doing nothing.

I only tend to go that way a couple of times a year (my mrs' younger brother is at one of the posh private schools down there - £9000 a term:eek:), but I'm only just off M5 J9 so no problem to pop down.

Sexey's in Bruton.
His mum lives on Alderney, Dad in Lincoln but works a lot in London. No wonder they packed the poor kid off to boarding school.
We went to see him in a musical, his mates liked the Cougar which was nice considering their dads have probably all got Astons.
 
We used to play football and rugby against them back in the Dark Ages; it was a day out for us and the teas were good but they didn't like losing to a bunch of oiks from a comprehensive. :)

I've got to pay my subscription next Monday so I can buy a ticket at the same time.
 
Do it. It's a great event. There's very little attitude - it's a family day and people do take their kids - and there's plenty entertainment on track and off.

I haven't decided whether I'm going to track Tiger yet, but even if you don't get out there on the tarmac it's worth going just to meet up with our people in person.
